My newest book is another organized crime biography. This time I’m the co-author with a former Gambino crime family street soldier.

Surviving the Mob is the story of Andrew DiDonato, who was an associate of the Nicky Corozzo crew of the Gambino family from 1983 until becoming a government witness in 1997. It’s a fascinating look at how a criminal gang operates through the eyes of a street soldier. We’re shooting for a release date late this year.

Seeking Justice Show Announcement

This Wednesday night, March 3, Kim Kolton and I will be seeking justice for Joan Webster. The 24-year-old Harvard University student disappeared from Boston’s Logan Airport on Saturday, November 28, 1981 after returning from a Thanksgiving visit with her parents in New Jersey.

On April 18, 1990 Joan’s remains were found in Hamilton, Ma., 20 miles north of Boston. She was found under a pile of leaves and logs, just 150 feet from a spot psychics led police to in 1982. The skull was broken, indicating she was probably killed by a blow to the head with a blunt instrument. A time and place of death could not be determined. Joining us to discuss this disturbing case will be Joan’s sister-in-law, Eve Carson.

Recently I did a fun interview with a popular United Kingdom Gambling Website about how one goes from being a retired investigator to “one of the most reputable “true crime” biographers to date.” A nice compliment.

They were most interested in how a man like me got to meet and write about a mobster like Frank Cullotta. They also cover a little bit about the recent news that the book “Cullotta” could help bring the Sharff Family some closure to theirs father’s murders. I think it was a well done piece.

Wednesday’s Show – missing and exploited children

Although we all too often hear about children who have been murdered by family members or child predators, there are many more who are victims of crimes that we don’t hear about. On Wednesday, February 3 at 9 pm Eastern – 6 pm Pacific, we’ll address the issue of missing and exploited children.

My panelists will be Delilah Jones, co-founder of Peace 4 The Missing, Derek VanLuchene, founder and president of Ryan United, a non-profit organization dedicated to Derek’s brother, who at the age of eight was abducted and murdered by a repeat sex offender, and Simon and Jan Barrett of Blogger News Network and co-hosts of the Simon Barrett show on Blog Talk Radio.
