Join Denny Griffin, Andrew DiDonato and some very special guests this Sunday for a private screening of Surviving the Mob
From 1983 through 1997 Andrew DiDonato was a street soldier for the Nicky Corozzo faction of the Gambino organized crime family. During that time his criminal activities included burglary, robbery, drug dealing, counterfeiting, forgery, fraud, conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder. In 1996 he was one of two men assigned by Nick Corozzo to kill John Gotti Junior. However, before the murder could take place, Andrew, Corozzo and Gotti himself were arrested and jailed on unrelated charges.
Andrew became a government witness in 1997. His subsequent testimony placed a number of his former colleagues from the Gambino and other New York City crime families behind bars. He testified against Junior Gotti in his 2005 trial.
The 2 Reel Production Company of Henderson has filmed a documentary of Andrew’s life titled Surviving the Mob. You are cordially invited to attend the private screening of the film. You can view the teaser at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn8kUXUcoNU&feature=email

Scharff/Freeman Murders

I’m pleased to announce that Paul Scharff and Holly Hager will be my guests on my Blog Talk Radio show at 7 pm Central on January 5th. Paul’s father, tavern owner Ronald Scharff, and his barmaid Patricia Freeman were murdered in McHenry County, Illinois in June 1981.
The killings remained unsolved for over 27 years. And then this past summer Holly Hager, Paul’s one-time baby-sitter, read a former mobster’s biography in which the murders were described and the killer named. Since then McHenry County has renewed their investigation; and the story has received attention from Chicago and McHenry County media.
Paul and Holly will explain the status of efforts to have the alleged killer officially named as the murderer and the cold cases closed out.
